Hi Laura,
Nicely written little piece! As a gardener myself, as well as a realist oil - painter, where plant studies have become a part of my work, I can appreciate this even more. Do you write like this as a hobby? Or, is it something you do freelance for others?

If you look at the website (I'm part of), it really needs to be updated; especially since I now live in Etters, have a new studio location, etc.
I'd like to talk w/ you about some further writing / work, if you're interested. Thanks.

OK but.... It's not the small farmers who are causing widespread bacteria outbreaks! The small guys know their crops, livestock and land intimately. Isn't it the big guys with the newest bells and whistles - - And certifications - - that are failing to control bacteria? (Wondering aloud?) IMHO the GAP means nothing until there is a meaningful penalty... Like taking away tax credits.... behind noncompliance by the big dogs.
