Master Gardener Garden Tour

Sometimes things are a no-brainer.  If you’re reading this, you must like plants, and learning about plants. You must like gardens.  So, the Cumberland County Master Gardeners garden tour is a must do for you Sunday, June 13th from noon to 6pm.

Get this.  The gardens on the tour are Pennsylvania gardens that real people have created.  Yes, you’ll see things you can do at YOUR house.  Plus, you’ll get a gift of a perennial from Highland Gardens and dessert from Dippin Dairy.

The gardens are the personal gardens of Penn Sate Master Gardeners.  Each garden is different.  See a range of things from a no-mow garden to a topiary rabbit.  There are herb gardens, veggie gardens and a faerie garden.  Each garden also has displays with info to help you become a better gardener.

One more thing.  The tour is a fundraiser for the Cumberland County Master Gardeners.  Those are the folks you can call to ask questions about gardening.  So, by going on this nearly free tour, you get ideas by seeing great gardens, learn stuff, AND you support those who educate about gardening.   How can you NOT be there?

This is how it works.  Buy your tour booklet from one of the businesses listed on their brochure.  The booklet is your ticket to all of the gardens. It lists the locations and there are directions at the sites.  During the tour, stop by Highland Gardens and Dippin Dairy, show them your tour book to pick up your gifts.  The value of the perennial and dessert pretty much covers the cost of the tour.

Any other plans can be changed, right?  Bring your friends along.  See ya there.
