Lancaster Garden Tour Day Two

The Hanselman Landscape garden.

Today we start our Lancaster Garden Tour at the Hanselman Landscape garden at 710 Fruitville Pike.Have a steep slope on your property?  If so you need to visit this property to get some great ideas on taming the “beast”!  Walkways and staircases leading you to the pond would be great fun for kids and adults.  Specimen plantings soften the hardscaping and create a very pleasant atmosphere.

Next, we visit Your Estate Service, Inc. at 42 Blue Rock Road

Your Estate Service, Inc., garden.

The great thing about this tour is you will see outdoor kitchens at various price points – they can be very elaborate or scaled back, to fit any budget.  This property has a fairly “simple” outdoor kitchen with all the necessities of a built in grill, side burner, etc. – but details like a countertop embedded with local river rock was very impressive.  Custom ponds and fountains on the property are sure to give you lots of ideas for your home.

Finally, today we see Schroeder Gardens at 1419 Ridge Road.

For those who enjoy plants – be sure to stop at Ridge Road.  Meandering grass escort the visitor through wonderful shrubby and perennial plantings.  As you progress further a stone bridge leads you across a “hidden” stream and brings you to the patio space overlooking this beautiful garden.  This garden works very well combining lots of features into a small backyard.
