Lancaster Garden Tour Day Three

With the tour only 3 days away, you would think we would be running out of great gardens – no way!  Lancaster County is full of wonderful garden spaces including Kilgore Landscaping’s project at 14 Crimson Lane.  The concrete paver patio is perfectly in scale with the yard and home, providing a pleasant outdoor seating area, and a wooden pergola structure provides a great shaded spot to sit and watch the kids as they play in the yard.

Next, we travel to 1030 Bluestone Drive, by River Valley Landscapes.  Upon arrival the property seems very traditional – think again.  Entering the backyard, can you say tropical resort?  A built in sun deck in the pool, waterfalls, misters on the roof overhang, outdoor kitchen, and a wood burning fire pit – all you need is a pina colada!

An outdoor kitchen and bar is part of this River Valley Landscapes design.

Finally, we visit C.E. Pontz Sons Inc. at 190 Yummerdall Drive.  Pond/waterfall lovers – stop here!  The front garden consists of a stream – one of the most naturalistic I have seen – complete with a fallen log and great plantings (I loved the siting of the River Birch in amongst the rock).  As you progress to the back yard, an outdoor fireplace and patio area are bordered by another pond – all overlook a lush backyard complete with a log tree house.
