George Weigel Lauches Gardening Website

picture-3
Many gardeners in Central PA will be spending a lot more time on-line.  A beloved local gardener, who has been responsible for inspiring and educating gardeners through his words since ’93, is now responsible for getting gardeners wired.  George Weigel’s new website - launched today – will motivate gardeners to trade their shovels for laptops; at least after dark and in January.

The gardeners will spend much time laughing at George….  errhhh….  WITH George.  His sense of humor and charm fills the site and makes learning about gardening fun.  It’s fantastic and looks great.  Example from his site?  geopooped-225x300

“George Weigel is a garden writer, garden designer, garden speaker, Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist, and as his balding, plant-killing brother likes to put it, a Certified Gardening Wacko.”

Well, this Certified Gardening Wacko has packed his site with information that will help many a gardener.  Wonder what garden tasks you should be doing each month?  Check George’s Timely Tips page.  Wonder what plants will thrive in zone 6B?  George’s Plant-of the-Week-Profiles page will help you find a plant that will do well and make lots of happy moments in your garden.

Take a look! There’s much more to see. I think you’ll find yourself happily wired. http://georgeweigel.net/

  3. I just visited George’s site and his latest blog post is really interesting.

It’s about Ball FloraPlant’s petunia called Black Velvet. Apparently, it’s not a dark burgundy, but closer to being true black.

Although it doesn’t have great coverage, I’d like to grow it. It looks so cool!

He also has a picture of a pinstriped petunia that looks awesome. Thanks for telling me about his site, it rocks!
