Gardenwise – Time to Register

Our Central PA gardening community is lucky enough to have access to many educational programs.  An excellent one is Gardenwise sponsored by the York County Master Gardeners. Gardenwise will be held March 13, 2010 at York Suburban High School in York, PA.

This year, William Cullina,  author, Plant and Garden Curator at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, noted authority on North American native plants, will give two talks.  He will lecture on his unique approach to garden design and give a separate presentation on his favorite ferns and grasses.

There are a number of other important talks offered – anything from wrestling with invasive plants to the hidden world of mycorrhizal fungi.   I loved this seminar last year and am looking forward to attending again this year.  Highly recommended.

I wanted to provide an easy link to their registration pdf, but I found the easiest way there is to just google Gardenwise and PA Master Gardeners York.  You’ll see it.

  1. I recently read (and submitted a report on) an article written by Mr. Cullina regarding Native Plants, for the perennials class that Ms. Brister is teaching. I loved his writing style and learned so much from that one article. While I need to study for my midterms this coming week, I may still try to get out to go hear him speak Wednesday. Thanks so much for this notice!

  3. Wow, I see by the registration form that this is an all-day affair on March 13, 2010, a Saturday — so much better! Will be one of the “late registrants” but I still think it will be worth the $54!

    Thanks again…

  4. I loved Gardenwise last year! Great gardeners in York County. But I have bad news. About a week after I posted this…. I was told the event was closed!! You might go to Cullina’s site and see if he is speaking nearby again. I’ll have to check out his books on your recommendation!
