Spring is coming this weekend. Daffodils and tulips will be blooming. Trees and shrubs will be in leaf. Fountains will be thawed and flowing.

Yet, looking out the window, I see snow still covers the ground. The color palette remains reduced to white and grey.

But true enough, right now, top landscapers are back to work creating gardens, spreading mulch and planting perennials. They are building spring in the Farm Show Complex.

The Pennsylvania Garden Expo is opening Friday, February 26th continuing to February 28th. This year’s title is “Imaginations Bloom”

For those of you who have never attended a garden show, this is the perfect time to discover the Garden Expo. After this intense and long winter, seeing green and flowers will immediately boost the mood of any outdoor lover turned curmudgeon by this fierce winter. And this is a first for the Garden Expo. After a hiatus last year, the show is back under new management.

The show offers huge landscaped gardens to inspire dreaming about your own gardening once spring arrives. There are 200 vendors offering garden related products, plants and information. On top of all that, take advantage of educational lectures, workshops and seminars.

If you’d like to couple all that the Garden Expo offers with meeting fellow Central PA gardeners, meet some of the PRG contributors and many of our friends Sunday morning at 10:15 near the entrance. For more info, fan Punk Rock Gardens on Facebook or search Facebook for PA Gardeners gather at Garden Expo. Afterward, we’ll hear Wendy Brister’s talk on “Birds, Butterflies & Insects….OH MY! Attracting wildlife to your garden with perennial plants.” Would love to see you there.

Spring in four days!
